Ben Kurtz of Lexington, Ky., and Darrell Waterfill of Harrodsburg, Ky., are among the 68 war veterans who will travel from Lexington to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 16, as part of this year’s Honor Flight. Both Kurtz and Waterfill will travel with the other Kentucky veterans for a one-day tour of war memorials in the nation’s capital.
This morning, Blue Grass Energy sent an additional nine men with heavy-duty equipment to join the 42 other contractors from the cooperative to assist in repairing utility damage in the wake of Hurricane Irma. In total there are 51 workers from Blue Grass Energy, including tree trimming and contracted construction personnel.
